Live via Video!

Summer Sizzle 2016 will be a blast!

This year we have the honor of hosting the highly praised futurist and analyst of the learning community – Elliott Masie, live via video conference (1/2 hour! ONLY).

Trends in Technology are changing how people and organizations learn. Elliott will share his insight and answer questions on trends in learning and development with our chapter members.

Objectives:

  • Hear from a leader in the Learning & Development field regarding trends in the field and his thoughts on the future of L&D
  • Learn more about our chapter and the potential opportunities to get involved
  • Meet industry professionals from around the Central Florida community to expand your networking circle of contacts
  • Give back to our local community via donations of school supplies and non-perishables and ensure children start the school year with the tools they need and that deserving families receive food for their pantries

Join us for this special event . . . You will be glad you did.

Information about Children's Home Society Back to School Drive:

Imagine starting the new school year without any supplies. No backpack. No paper. No pencils. Many families who come to Children’s Home Society of Florida for help are struggling to put food on the table so school supplies are hardly a priority, but showing up to school without basic supplies can be very embarrassing and discouraging for children. Positive academic experiences are essential to their confidence and potential, so please help these children start the new school year successfully.

This summer, we need to collect backpacks and school supplies for more than 2,000 children and teens in the Central Florida community.  See the attached Back to School Drive flyer for details on how you can help kids go back to school with the tools they need.  In addition, I have attached a guide on organizing a Back to School Drive with helpful tips to support your efforts.  We also need volunteers in late July and early August to organize supplies and stuff backpacks.  Please let us know if you can get a group together to help! Together, we can prepare our children for a successful school year!

Information about Second Harvest:

Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores and distributes donated food to more than 550 feeding partners in six Central Florida counties: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia. Last year, with the help of numerous donors, volunteers and a caring, committed community, the food bank distributed nearly 64 million pounds of grocery products – the equivalent of more than 53 million meals – to partner programs such as food pantries, soup kitchens, women’s shelters, senior centers, day care centers and Kids Cafes.

As a friendly reminder, cancellations are due no less than 5 days prior to the program. Pre-Paid registrations will not be refunded after the fifth day and pending confirmations will be invoiced with payment due upon receipt. This policy will remain in effect as an effort to cover catering expense and unsold seating created by holding your reservation. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Photos are often taken during the program meeting to be used for newsletters, the website, social media and marketing purposes.  If you prefer not to appear in the image, please let the photographer know at the meeting.
