Executive Board Roles

The executive board roles have a total commitment of three years and represent the highest commitment of Chapter involvement. The three-year commitment is comprised of serving a year as President-Elect, a year as President and a year as Past President. To serve in the Executive Board, you must have at least served in an operational role for six months.

The President role is a one-year responsibility representing the Chapter at ATD national and local efforts.
As President you:

  • Set the strategy and align all teams to contribute to the overall vision and mission of the Chapter
  • Oversee all operations to ensure the Chapter gains global recognition and meets all Chapter Affiliation Requirements known as CARE
  • Engage members on a personal level and introduce initiatives that enhances their membership experience
  • Coach and prepare the President-Elect for a successful term as president

The President-Elect role is a one-year responsibility in preparation for your role as President.
As President-Elect you:

  • Lead and are ultimately responsible for the success of the annual Weekend in Learning and Development (WILD) Chapter conference
  • Manage and coordinate all logistics for Board participation at the ATD Chapter Leaders Conference (ALC)
  • Collaborate with President and Past President for a successful succession

The Past President role is a one-year responsibility immediately after serving as Chapter President.
As Past President you:

  • Support the President's initiatives and mentor Board members as needed
  • Secure strategic alliances with local organizations to expand Chapter exposure
  • Lead and coordinate Chapter participation at major learning and development conferences
Operational Board Roles

When you belong to the ATDCFL Board, you join the Chapter in a leadership capacity. You will be expected to make decisions as a leader, collaborate and make a positive impact toward our goals.

All Board members that show quantifiable impact are eligible to attend the annual ALC after serving for at least six months and as Chapter finance resources permit.

Business Dev focuses on extending the reach of the Chapter and maximizing financial growth through securing corporate memberships, digital marketing clients and sponsorships. You want to lead or be in this team because you are a natural people person with amazing sales skills. You are creative about how the Chapter can partner and benefit from industry wide participation and involvement in local conferences.
This is what we do:

  • Contact and establish relationships with local L&D leaders to promote corporate memberships
  • Establish key relationships with learning vendors for sponsorship opportunities
  • Seek out philanthropic events and organizations in support of Chapter activities

Communications is one of the top teams in the Chapter. You want to lead or be in this team because you are a highly creative person with skills in graphic design, visual communication, video, eLearning or instructional design.
This is what we do:

  • Design all artwork and write copy for all events
  • Design pamphlets and other Chapter printed media
  • Capture great moments with photography and videography at live events
  • Update and maintain the Chapter website

Finance is our guiding light in a sea of budgets! You want to lead or be in this team because you love numbers, budgets and spreadsheets.
This is what we do:

  • Lead and prepare the Chapter annual budget efforts
  • Maintain accurate accounting and financial statements on a weekly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Organize and conduct our independent annual Chapter financial audit
  • Manage Chapter financial resources and meet Federal and State regulatory requirements

Membership is all about keeping existing members and attracting new ones. You want to lead or join this team because you like talking to people and analyzing spreadsheets. Each month, the Chapter loses and gains members. It's your job to identify why this happens and come up with solutions.

This is what we do:

  • Monitor and welcome new memberships
  • Pull weekly reports and provide insights on gains/losses/renewals
  • Organize membership appreciation and community events
  • Implement strategies for maximum membership growth

Programs is another top team in the Chapter. You want to lead or be in this team because you love organizing parties, events, coordinating resources and managing projects.
This is what we do:

  • Find venues for each of our live events in the Greater Orlando area
  • Coordinate food, personnel and logistics for successful networking and learning events
  • Find renowned speakers at no or little cost to the Chapter for webinars and live events
