In our Chapter meetings, we’ve had some excellent sessions to help us think creatively about incorporating some great learning techniques into our programs.  In this month’s session, we’ll roll up our sleeves and take a look at some of the challenges that we often encounter and how to deal with them.  In a perfect world, we’d all have up-to-date content that was developed with all the ideal instructional design elements and the learners would come to class excited about the opportunity to learn.  This session will focus on those times when we have to make a class successful in a less-than-perfect situation.

We’ll explore the following topics:

  • How to engage participants who really don’t want to be there
  • How to tailor the session on the spot if the material doesn’t fit the  audience.
  • The differences in delivering classes as an internal vs external facilitator.
  • Tips for leaving the facilitator’s guide at home and staying on track with the learners
  • Facilitation of technical information vs. soft skills
