Aint nobody got time for that!

In today’s fast-paced and technology-driven world, the modern worker is pulled in many directions, making it difficult to train them efficiently. Organizations still relying on traditional training as a primary means of upskilling are failing to maximize knowledge transfer and retention. To address the time constraints of modern learners, organizations must adopt new ways of designing and delivering training. Similarly, organizations must cater to the learning preferences and UI/UX expectations of four diverse learning populations (Boomers, Gen-X, Millennials, and Gen-Z). They must also juggle resources, budgets, and deadlines while attempting to train their workforce to meet their ever-changing business demands effectively.

As learning experience designers, we have a responsibility to keep pace with our learners by continually developing our skills, knowledge, and resources. To become a master of learning experience design, practitioners must possess a wide variety of design tools, techniques, methodologies, and proficiency in managing learning eco-systems. Learning practitioners must be willing to invest the time and resources needed to achieve mastery. If “ain’t nobody got time for that,” how do we find the time to create engaging learning experiences that accommodate the needs of the modern worker?
