Emotional Intelligence for Decision Making

Tuesday, March 20, 2012

5:30 p.m. – 8:45 p.m.

Location:  Crowne Plaza Hotel - Downtown Orlando**

Program Description:

Current research shows that when we lose our cool over something, it takes us over four hours to get over it. When we’re stressed, our decision making ability is compromised because the brain is working at survival. This class will teach you how to be aware of those who are experiencing an “emotional hangover” and how to get past it.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Individuals attending this session are involved in one or more of the following areas:

  •  Managing teams
  • Guiding members of the team or co-workers through time of transition or change
  •  In charge of or working with people who are making company or team decisions

WHAT THE SESSION PROVIDES

This session will provide you with research and show you how to map it to ways you can help improve how your team reacts to circumstances. You can help them build resiliency by helping them identify the triggers that take them out and show them ways to avoid or react to those triggers and situations.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS LEARN

After attending this session, the participants will be able to:

  • Identify triggers to emotional reactions before they happen
  • Learn techniques to avoid or reduce the reaction to emotional triggers
  • Learn how to map this information for their teams to minimize bad decision making.
  • Learn about current tools and instruments to help teams under stress.
