In today’s economic environment many people are experiencing change in their careers.   What can you do to get that competitive edge? 

 

In this month’s two-part program, you will learn strategies for expanding and managing your career. Through a series of table topics with experts in the field, you will hear about:

1)      Using Social Media for Your Career  Whether you are currently in career transition or looking to make a change, Luigi Frascatelli of Newland & Associates will show you how to use Social Networking sites such as LinkedIn and Facebook for your job search in today’s world.

2)      Managing Your Career  Experienced Career Coach and Trainer, Dr. Barbara Seifert will provide you with career management strategies and tactics such as creating a job search strategy, resume writing, and networking. 

3)      Professional Development (CPLP & PHR/SPHR) Chapter members Anita Torres (CPLP) & Charlotte McDonald (PHR/SPHR) will discuss the requirements of these certifications and how they how benefit your professional development and improve your career.

4)      Keeping Your World in the Palms of Your Hands  Leslie Dello Russo, PHR (VP, Human Resources at CNL Bank) will help you understand how you would define career success in the “New Normal”.

One key way to improve your skills and stay current in the field of learning and performance is through volunteering in the chapter. There are many opportunities to contribute. In the second part of our program you will hear from two experienced professionals, Anita Torres and Gordon Barcalow, who credit some of their success to volunteering and networking with our chapter. In addition, you will be able to speak with the chapter board members about different volunteer opportunities
