Like automobiles, the field of Training continues to evolve and change; allowing us to take our learners on a journey in new and exciting ways. And like the various modes of transportation available to us today (from SUVs to mopeds to SmartCars and yes, Mr. Jetson, flying cars), workplace learning and development professionals have a full range of options to transport our learners beyond on-the-job, classroom training or individual coaching.  The challenge is to understand all the "modes of transportation" available to us today and select the right one to take our learners from Point A to Point B.

In this session, we will…

  • Follow the evolution of a training program over 15 years and five “generations”
  • Compare pros and cons of online learning, classroom facilitation, and other methodologies so that you can better decide which approaches are right for you
  • Gain a method for evaluating eLearning design
  • Explore examples and possibilities of Blended Learning

This session relates to the following ASTD Learning and Performance Areas of Expertise:

  • Delivering training
  • Designing learning
  • Facilitating organizational change
  • Improving human performance
